This 3 Days Burundi tour is a short but interesting trip that you can undertake even when limited on time but will discover a lot about the country’s treasures and cultural heritage.
You will explore the city, visit the source of the Nile in Burundi and learn about the historical sites.
Day 1: Arrival, Hotel Transfer & City Tour of Bujumbura.
You will be picked up from the airport on arrival and transferred to the hotel in Bujumbura to freshen up and have the luggage kept.
You will then head out for a half-day tour visiting the city hall, the president’s office, the snake and cultural museum as well as the city’s star attraction; Lake Tanganyika.
Enjoy dinner and stay overnight at Club du Lac Tanganyika.
Day 2: Visit the Source of the Nile River & Karera Waterfalls.
Have breakfast and head out 120 kilometers to what is believed to be the remotest true source of the Nile River at Rutovu. You will then continue and explore the beautiful Kerera waterfalls where you will reconnect with nature and later return to Bujumbura in the evening.
Dinner and overnight stay at Club du Lac Tanganyika.
Day 3: Explorers’ Memorial, Local Market & Departure.
This is the 3rd and last day of the tour. You will have breakfast and head out to the city suburbs where you will visit the giant rock that is a memorial site as the meeting point for explorers John Speke and Hannington.
We will then visit the local market for general produce and merchandise and experience the city trader’s daily schedule and nature of work. Visit the crafts market as well for souvenir shopping and later transfer to the airport in time for check-in and departure marking the end of this 3 Days Burundi Tour.
