On our 11 Days Uganda and Rwanda Safari, you will visit both Uganda and Rwanda for amazing wildlife encounters.
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park
Pick up from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala and drive to Murchison falls national park. It will take you around 5 hours from Kampala with about 305 km. You will enter through Kichumbanyobo gate. Paara covers a distance of about 85km from Masindi town by the shortest route. You will visit the top of the falls and then proceed to Heritage Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Game Drive and Launch Cruise – Murchison Falls
Early morning breakfast and then go for a game drive where you will spot various animal species like elephants, giraffes, lions, Uganda kobs among others.
In the afternoon; you will go for a launch cruise on the park’s main tourist attraction the unique Murchison Falls as well as the River Nile with its streaming hippo and serried ranges of crocodile along the sandbanks, as well as large numbers of different species getting down to drink & bathe. Dinner and overnight at Heritage Safari Lodge as above.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park
You will have breakfast and then drive to Kibale national park. This is a full day drive. You will have lunch en-route. Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee forest guest house
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking- Kibale Forest
Have early morning breakfast and go for briefing and start chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for Chimpanzee tracking. Kibale’s
795km2 National Park contains one of the most beautiful and with the most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is place to a number of forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primate coupled with chimpanzees.
After trekking, you will have lunch and then visit Bigodi wetland where you will experience a lot of bird life and unspoilt nature! Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee forest guest house as above.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Have early morning breakfast and proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving mid-morning with a transit game drive. Enjoy lunch and embark on the afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel with lots of game, crocodiles and birds at the bay. Dinner and overnight at Pumba Safari Cottages.
Day 6: Game Drive and on to Bwindi
You will go for early morning game drive in the Kasenyi sector where you may spot various animals like the elephants, Uganda kobs, leopards among others. Later proceed to Bwindi with lunch en-route and arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge.
Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi
After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing and go for gorilla trekking, this could take 4-6 hours depending on the movements of the gorillas. After trekking, return for dinner and overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge as above
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – Kabale
Have breakfast at leisure and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale known as the Switzerland of Africa! The drive itself is enjoyable with scenic landscapes and misty distant views of the Virunga Mountains.
Have lunch in Kabale town and proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for a boat cruise to Bushara Island where you will enjoy a rejuvenating nature walk on the forest trail with great bird viewing opportunities! Depart Bushara and return to the loading site and proceed to Bunyonyi Overland Resort
Day 9: Transfer to Gisenyi – Lake Kivu
Have breakfast and embark on your journey to Lake Kivu in Rwanda crossing the border at Cyanika and arriving Lake Kivu in the afternoon. Check in and unwind as you admire the crystal clear waters of Lake Kivu. You could as well set out to visit the shores and the village. Dinner and overnight at Paradise Malahide.
Day 10: Lake Kivu Tour & Transfer to Ruhengeri
Enjoy breakfast and a half day tour of Lake Kivu with its environs. Have lunch and transfer to Ruhengeri – the base town for Volcanoes national park. Dinner and overnight at Muhabura Hotel.
Day 11: Golden Monkey Trekking & Transfer to Kigali
Wake up to an early morning breakfast and go for Golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes national park. It’s a 2 to 3 hours activity which also gives you great views of the park and birds.
Return in time for lunch and later transfer to Kigali arriving in the evening. Proceed to the airport and fly to Tanzania.
